The Search Is Over! Karadzic Spotted at Ceca Concert in Skopje

First, on the Serbian video story: the Independent today claims to have the inside story on how this "smoking gun" tape was found. The always-ignored Milosevic defense claims something funny is up. Both articles make for compelling reading. As always... you be the judge!

Second, everyone knows that the squawking Carla Del Ponte has her talons ever outstretched to seize Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic. Well the wait is over! At least for the former, who was spotted at Ceca's sold-out turbofolk lovefest last night in Skopje.

As we can see from the vivid illustrations in this week's issue of Skopje weekly magazine Fokus, the Serbian fugitive was in good company:

This is one of their funnier comics to date, not only because of the presence of Karadjic and Hussein (or even Bin Laden, who also shows up), but because it pokes fun at the Macedonian leadership. In the sketch, Prime Minister Vlade Buckovski and President Branko Crenkovski disguise themselves as "punks" so that no one will recognize them as they indulge their passion for the siliconed Serbian pop star. There they run into the aforementioned trio.

When George Bush (depicted in cowboy fringe and about to service an inflatable female doll) gets the news, US commandos are sent via helicopter to make these historic arrests. However, the soldiers too are seduced by Ceca's undulent curves, and relegated to enjoy the show alongside the dynamic fivesome. Classic.

If you can't enlarge the photo above, and/or can't speak Macedonian, we provide the translation for this page (the second out of third in the strip) below.

Box 1 and 2: no dialogue

Box 3:

Branko: "Bule, but isn't that guy next to you Radovan Karadzic?"

Karadzic: "SHHHH!

Box 4:

Buckovski: "I don't know, but this one to your right reminds me a lot of Ilinka."

Box 5: no dialogue.

Box 6:

Branko: "Um, um, I'm sorry, Mr. Hussein, you aren't in an American jail?

Box 7:

Saddam: "I am, I am, but I lied to them and said I'm going to my 50th high school reunion, and they let me out for 3 days. I just had to see Ceca!

Karadzic: "I saw that you recognized me too, yes, I am [Karadzic], but I can't see Ceca in Serbia, so I came here."
